First of all, this is a solid and durable looking little leather-bound volume. It's meant to be carried about in a coat pocket and actually used — just just to look pretty on a shelf. I'm going to keep it in my car for when I can make it to adoration down the block from the office, and I plan to bring it with me when I go to confession — the examination of conscience and related prayers are excellent.This book contains a comprehensive collection of Catholic prayers and devotions, including:
• the Holy Hour
• Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament
• Forty Hours' Devotion
• Devotion to the Sacred Heart
• the Stations of the Cross
• Copious Marian Prayers and devotions
• other Saint devotions
• Prayers for the Living
• Prayers for the Souls in Purgatory
• Virtues, Works of Mercy, Beatitudes, other similar Catholic mediations
• "prayers to be said every day" including morning and evening sets
• How to say the Rosary (missing Luminous Mysteries, of course)
Being a reprint of a 1960 edition, there are some things that are less relevant to Catholics today. The readings and mass prayers are for the older rite, so will not be useful at a Novus Ordo parish. The Calendar of Saints' Feasts is slightly different. And some of the prayers are different than what you may hear other people say. The confiteor is different, but also the last part of the Salve Regina, which is often said communally upon conclusion of a Rosary. The book appears to be missing the familiar Prayer to St. Michael entirely, which surprises me.
Also, this volume is actually printed by "Preserving Christian Publications" (pcpbooks dot net); Angelus Press appears to be a distributer of theirs.
There is one ribbon, which is nice to have.

This is a beautiful book. I love it, just what I wanted. I love the engravings throughout and the prayers some of which I haven't seen in years.
It also has the full Latin Mass and the readings and gospels. Although it contains so much material the book is just the right size, small enough to fit in your pocket or handbag. I can highly recommend it. Thank you !
Outstanding product! Truly a hidden treasure of our faith. I highly recommend this prayer book which contains much more information including a functional Sunday Missal (Extraordinary form) and English translation Epistle and Gospel readings. This is so much more than so had anticipated!!! The artwork is gorgeous and the binding and gilding is of excellent quality. I highly recommend.
If you need a good comprehensive Roman Catholic prayer book, Blessed Be God is one of the two traditional prayer books that I would recommend, the being My Prayer Book by Father Lasance.
This edition of Blessed Be God is a sturdy pocket-size edition. The list of prayers is excellent. There is a section with Bible verses by topic that can be used for contemplation. There are even excerpts from the Imitation of Christ for reflection. The traditional Latin Mass with scripture readings for Sundays and Holy Days with applicable prayers makes this a great book for travel. I especially liked the inclusion of Sunday Vespers.
If one is interested in an Eastern Catholic prayer book, I recommend the Publican's Prayer Book published by Sophia Press which is run by the Melkite Eparchy of Newton.
This is an excellent book with wonderful orthodox prayers that you don't see so much any more. There are also indulgenced prayers and a myriad of other wonderful things. I highly recommend it. It is a small book but still legible and printed in the old style. In short, it is a beautiful little book and I'm quite fond of it. As an added bonus, it also has the TLM parts in it as well. If you want to pray some of the great prayers of the saints and the prayers cherished by your grand parents and great-grand parents, this is the book for you!
Before becoming Catholic I was Anglican and then Orthodox, and have a large collection of prayer books from all three. I just got this one and spent about an hour going over it thoroughly, and couldn't be more pleased. The cover and binding are as good as any including name type leather. The print is a standard book size, and should be fine for anyone who doesn't need Large Print. Unless you're looking for something very specific, and new (which you can probably find as a booklet) I don't think you'll need anything else. Despite the amount of prayers, devotions and scripture it contains (with an easy to read print), it is actually pocket sized. Perfect for anyone who likes to pray whenever they have the opportunity. I hope this stays in print I think it is a valuable asset for any Catholic.
Blessed Be God is without question the BEST prayer book I have ever owned. It is both a missal (with 1962 Tridentine Latin Mass + readings for Sundays and principal feast days) and an all purpose devotionals/prayer book. It has all the best litanies, morning prayers, evening prayers, prayers for the living and deceased, prayers for the souls in purgatory, prayers for each day of the week, monthly prayers, prayers for both before and after Mass & communion, prayers for confession, "old school" examination of conscience (with a thorough breakdown of the ten commandments, precepts of the Church, 7 deadly sins, etc.), 40 hours devotion, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Ceremony of Matrimony, Tables of feasts and fasts, Table of movable feasts, Devotions to the Holy Face, the Five Wounds, the Precious Blood, Devotions for holy days and special feasts, and lots more. I can not possibly recommend this enough, especially if you are looking for a traditional leather prayerbook and missal that fits in your pocket.
